Refunds, cancellations and revisions
Every song is made from scratch for one person, so here's exactly what we guarantee and when refunds apply.
In short: paid orders can be cancelled within 24 hours for a full refund if production hasn't started. After that, we fix anything that falls short of our quality guarantee for free, and changes of taste use your revisions.
Cancelling an order
You can cancel within 24 hours of ordering for a full refund, as long as production hasn't started. After that, work has begun and the order can't be cancelled.
Express orders may start production immediately after confirmation, so they usually can't be cancelled.
Approving your lyrics
Before anything is recorded, we email you a lyrics draft. Recording starts once you approve it, or automatically 48 hours after the draft is sent (12 hours for Express) if we haven't heard from you. Approved lyrics are what we record. Lyric changes after recording has started are a late lyric change ($40), and the delivery time restarts from the new approval. Changes to the recorded song itself, like how a line is sung or the tone, use your included revisions.

Free fixes and paid changes
If your song misses any of the guarantees above, tell us within 7 days of delivery and we'll fix it free. Requests about taste, like melody, instruments, vocal style or phrasing, are handled with your included revisions or an extra revision.
Add-ons
- Express delivery: if we miss the 48-72 hour window for reasons on our side, the express fee is refunded.
- Duet: if only one voice is delivered by mistake, we re-deliver the duet free.
- Lyric video and poster: non-refundable once delivered. Errors we introduce are corrected free.
- Extra revision and genre change: non-refundable once work starts.
Late or missing delivery
If we're late through our own fault, we'll offer free expedited completion, a partial refund, or a full refund if production hasn't started. Delays caused by wrong contact details or an incomplete story aren't covered.
Refund timing
Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method within 5-10 business days.
Questions or concerns
Email support@songssmith.com within 7 days of delivery with your order number and what's wrong. Please contact us before opening a dispute with your bank; most issues are solved quickly.
