If you have used all included revisions and are still genuinely not moved by your song, Fenton will issue a full refund — no questions asked, no arguments, no hard feelings.

Payment Terms
When & How Payment Is Charged

All Songs Smith orders require full payment at the time of ordering, processed securely through Stripe. There are no deposits, instalment plans, or deferred billing options.

By completing your order, you agree that Fenton will begin writing your song immediately after payment is confirmed. This means work commences on your behalf from the moment you pay — which is why our refund eligibility criteria below are structured the way they are.

All prices are listed and charged in US Dollars (USD). Currency conversion fees, where applicable, are the responsibility of the customer's card issuer.

The Core Guarantee
Full Refund After Revisions

Songs Smith offers a 100% money-back guarantee with one clear condition: you must first use all revision rounds included with your package. Revisions exist so Fenton can hear your feedback and improve the song before any refund is considered.

  • Essential package — 1 revision included before refund eligibility applies
  • Signature package — 2 revisions included before refund eligibility applies
  • Heirloom package — Unlimited revisions; refund considered if work is genuinely at an impasse
  • Corporate quotes — Refund terms agreed individually before work begins

Once you have used your revisions and are still not satisfied, contact Fenton directly. A full refund will be issued to your original payment method within 5–7 business days.

Pre-Delivery Cancellations
Cancelling Before You Receive Your Song

Because Fenton begins writing immediately, cancellations requested before delivery are considered on a time-elapsed basis:

Within 2 hours of ordering

Full refund issued if Fenton has not yet begun your song. Contact us immediately.

After work has begun

A partial refund of up to 50% may be issued at Fenton's discretion, depending on how much work has been completed.

C
After song is delivered

Full refund guarantee applies after revisions are used. See Section 2 above.

D
Corporate / Custom orders

Cancellation terms are set individually in your project agreement before any work begins.

To cancel, email Fenton at with your order reference number as soon as possible.

The Refund Process
How to Request a Refund

Fenton handles every refund request personally. Here is how the process works:

  • Email with your full name and order reference number
  • Briefly describe why you are requesting a refund and whether you have used your revisions
  • Fenton will respond within 24–48 hours to acknowledge your request
  • If approved, the refund is processed via Stripe back to your original payment method
  • Refunds typically appear within 5–7 business days, depending on your bank

Fenton does not want arguments or resentment. If you are unhappy, he would rather return your money and part on good terms than keep payment for a song that didn't do its job.

Delivery & Delays
Late Delivery & Force Majeure

Fenton takes his delivery commitments seriously. All songs are delivered within 4–5 days. Rush delivery (add-on) receives priority treatment.

In the rare event of a delay caused by unforeseen circumstances — illness, family emergency, or technical failure — Fenton will contact you proactively and offer one of the following:

  • A revised delivery timeline with your approval
  • A partial discount or add-on credit for the inconvenience
  • A full refund if the delay is unacceptable to you

Force majeure events (natural disasters, widespread service outages, etc.) do not automatically entitle a customer to a refund, but Fenton will always find a fair resolution.

Ownership & Use
Song Ownership After Delivery

Upon full payment and delivery, you receive a personal licence to use your song for private, non-commercial purposes — sharing with friends and family, playing at events, posting on social media for personal use.

  • Commercial use (advertising, monetised content, broadcast) requires the Corporate package or a separate commercial licence agreement
  • Fenton retains the underlying copyright and compositional rights to all songs
  • If a refund is issued, your licence to use the song is revoked; you may not retain or distribute it
  • Songs written for personal occasions may not be sold, licensed, or transferred to third parties

Privacy & Your Story
How We Handle What You Share

When you order a song, you share deeply personal memories, stories, and details about people you love. Fenton treats this information with the same reverence he brought to writing Clara's song.

  • Your story is used solely to write your song — it is never shared, published, or sold
  • Songs Smith will never use your song or story in marketing without your explicit written consent
  • Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe — Songs Smith never sees or stores your card details
  • You may request deletion of your data at any time by emailing

Songs Smith reserves the right to update this Refund & Guarantee Policy at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. The policy in effect at the time of your order governs your purchase — not any subsequent version.
